PRESENTATION OF THE IRDES
Irdes develops different tools and media to facilitate access to information. Its editorial and publication policy thus presents two main lines of action:
- one the one hand, to disseminate findings from health economics related studies, research and surveys to a wide audience. The dedicated support is Questions d’économie de la santé, a synthesis published monthly whose primary objectives are readability and accessibility;
- on the other hand, to present research works aiming at being published in peer-reviewed academic journals, targeting firstly the scientific community. These prepublications, generally submitted to peer-reviewed journals, are published in Documents de travail de l’Irdes. They are intended to contribute to the scientific discussion, being used as information medium in seminars during which they are debated and enriched.
The reference collection Rapports de l’Irdes is in the continuity of these lines as they offer full findings of studies, research works or surveys.
Irdes publications are available online in full text format. They are promoted through two main lines of communication: press releases, sent to different target audiences according to publication themes, and an e-newsletters delivered monthly by email to 12,000 persons (all audiences combined), which notably lists works by Irdes researchers.
Paper versions of Questions d’économie de la santé and Rapports de l’Irdes can also be ordered, unlike the Documents de travail which are only available online.
Furthermore, Irdes documentation center synthesizes documentation products which are available online: bibliographic bulletins, documentation packages, press reviews… Its extensive collection of documents specialized in health economics, as well as in related disciplines such as demography, epidemiology, medicine or social legislation, is open to the public.
